Hearing Loss Education and Guidance
Regardless of ethnicity, the Hear & Speak Center offers varied community resources and learning opportunities as well as levels of guidance in multiple learning formats that are best suited to meet each family’s needs.
This enables each parent to optimally navigate the medical, educational
and socio-emotional journey needed to meet their child’s needs.
Infants, Toddlers, Preschoolers
Hear & Speak specializes in a holistic approach that best supports each child who is DHH, focusing on effective communication skills while empowering parents.
Our goal: to enable each child to become fully integrated
within the hearing and speaking community of choice.
School Age Students
Hear & Speak offers specialized support for school-age children with varying degrees of hearing loss and/or communication skills. Academic interventions enhance their social, emotional, and learning experiences.
We provide Intensive, individualized instruction in core subjects.
Our goal: to ensure that each student accesses the school curriculum & optimizes personal learning potential with a positive mental state.
Community-Centered Care Support for Each Family
- Parent networking is critical for those on journeys involving hearing loss and hearing-related needs.
- Workshops in audiology, deaf education, speech pathology, social work, and family therapy are offered for families.
- Ethnic-based associations provide both social and linguistic support systems for parents, siblings, and other interested family members.
- The Hear & Speak Center currently supports families who primarily speak either English, Arabic, French or Spanish. As family needs arise, additional support systems will be provided for those who speak other languages.
